Marrakech Royal Golf
Description
The Royal Golf of Marrakech, favorite of his late majesty King Hassan II, is the second oldest course of the Kingdom. Some holes are legendary and full of history. its exceptional luxuriant vegetation offers a great pleasure of play.Designed by Gustave Golias and Arnaud Massy and open to the first players in 1927, The Royal Golf of Marrakech, consists of a historic 18-hole course called the "Old Course" (Green and Red).A 9-hole loop, named "Menara" (Blue) and whose architects are the Sprecher / Watine team, was most recently inaugurated in 2008.David Lloyd George, a British statesman, made numerous appearances on the golf greens of Marrakech. Winston Churchill also frequented him several times before the Second World War, and later the American President, General Ike Eisenhower.
The course is not overly long and finding your way along the narrow fairways, through the cypress, Eucalyptus, Palm, Olive, Orange and Apricot trees, can be difficult at times. Precision is more important on this course and it may be good to choose the times you use your driver with care!
